Watch the 1975 cover Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next’ on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge

The 1975 took on Ariana Grande‘s break up anthem ‘thank u, next’ in their BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session.

Check out a clip of the Grande cover below.

Speaking about the track, Matty Healy sang the pop star’s praises, calling her a “main protagonist” in popular culture and “somebody I’ve started to really care about for some reason. She’s had a right old tough time and I like her a lot. I think she’s cool. And she’s got a great voice. And I don’t. So I’m gonna sing one of her songs.”

The session also saw the band perform three tracks from their upcoming album, ‘Sincerity Is Scary’, ‘It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)’ and ‘TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME’.

The 1975’s new album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, drops this Friday.
