Pink Skies reimagines 6LACK in his woozy new cut ‘Gettin’ Old’

Pink Skies has transformed 6LACK’s ‘Gettin’ Old‘ into a woozy dreamland with his latest offering.

Gettin’ Old‘ opens with its unforgettable organ only to be greeted by an array of bluesy sparkling guitar licks and synth chords. Snappy clicks keep the melodies in check as Arieh Berl‘s hazy vocals soar above and below, cloaking the sound in dazzling beams. Sweeping synths draw your attention from left to right as the beat and bass lines cut through making the cloudy ‘Gettin’ Old’ feel like an out of body experience. Listen to Pink Skies dreamy cut below.

Speaking about the track Berl reminisces: Gettin’ Old is a really special song to me.  I was driving around LA with my friend JT, who engineered my project and works with 6LACK, how much I loved the track and he said, “If you love the track so much, why don’t you cover it?”  I thought it’d be cool, so I gave it a go and it turned into one of my favorite records on the project.

The California native grew up on a diet of punk and indie bands, playing in some from around the Bay Area, before focussing on his solo work becoming Pink Skies back in 2016. Ready to release his Sophmore single today, Pink Skies is gearing up for an exciting few months ahead. Check out his socials below for more.
