Miss True Trouble releases single ‘Radical’

Miss True Trouble introduced her single Radical, found on her debut album. Running for just under two minutes, the song combines unruly DIY production with a shadowy atmosphere, placing her vocals and insistent chorus at its heart. Written in 2010 and recorded in Camden, the single revisits a brief relationship and morning spent in her London flat.

Discussing the release, Miss True Trouble explains:

“I wrote this song in 2010 and recorded it in a studio in Camden Town near Camden Square, where I was living. It’s about a short love affair I had, and the time we spent together in my flat in Camden Square, looking outside the window of my room, waking up in the morning together, and feeling upset about life. It’s that he and I were taking things in life for granted and not realizing that time goes on and that we couldn’t always be together for our whole lives, and about how we had to enjoy the moments we were together, even if in the future we would change towns and be far from each other.”

She has shared stages with Pete Doherty, Jamie xx and Dufus, while periods of living and working in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago and Detroit have taken her across the United States. Now based in Berlin, she continues to develop her electronic practice. ‘Radical’ brings an earlier chapter into the present, preserving the immediacy of an experience whose meaning has endured.
