Isaac Saenz releases new EP ‘This Should Hurt More’

Isaac Saenz revisits feelings that outlast circumstance on ‘This Should Hurt More’, a four-track EP produced and mixed by Vincent Ernst. The Texas-based songwriter-artist has been developing his sound since 2021, culminating in a glowing rise in the alt-pop-punk space, with two million streams to boast of – ‘This Should Hurt More’ is arguably his best work yet.

“This Should Hurt More came from reflecting on experiences that stay with you long after they’re over” explains Isaac.

“A lot of the writing came from sitting with those feelings instead of trying to make them sound prettier than they were. ‘Lost It’ came from reflecting on a breakup around 2019, and that idea of lingering emotions became a big part of the EP. ‘Holly’ has an even longer history. Josh and I originally wrote it while we were in college, using a beat I had produced around 2018–2019. Josh wrote the hook and played the guitar, and I held onto the song for years before giving it to Vince Ernst for post-production. It wasn’t originally planned for the EP, but when I revisited it, everything clicked. We finished it, and it became part of the story.”
