Inspired by his sister, Alex Maiorano, AKA Maiorano, is back with a glorious indie show-stopping single, packed with glorious guitarwork and stellar production. He sings in his native tongue, Italian, and is now a Berlin resident; this summer surf anthem is Maiorano’s first release of 2026 and drops in some showpiece style.
Diving into the writing process, he continues:
“Recording for the first time in Italian was an intense experience – something I had never felt before, in my body and in my voice. After being inspired for so long by music from the UK and the States, singing in Italian was something I never thought I would do, but this felt like the right moment.”
Inspired by UK and US music, these influences that sit either side of the Atlantic have cultivated a rich indie sound in Lesbian Love. Having started life with LP Glorious Days back in 2018, Alex cites Say She She and Bobby Oroza as key influences, but despite this lending of ideas, Maiorano is truly in a lane of their own.
