Showcasing his soulful vocal, ‘Change’ is the newest single from Swedish multi-instrumentalist Antonio Cordua. Loaded with multi-layered guitars, both full of groove as well as deeply percussive riffs, lending inspiration from John Mayer, with the indie-folk elements made notably via Bon Iver and Ben Howard. Despite these influences, Antonio remains in a lane of his own.
Discussing themes of being boxed in and finding his own path, Antonio explains that “The song, ‘CHANGE’ came from my frustrations about being told who I am by people close to me. I was tired of people thinking they know me better than I know myself and wanting me to change and conform to their idea of who I should be. I wrote this song as a way of drawing a line in the sand.”
“Deciding for myself if I should hide behind their image of who I am or if I should embrace the person I want to become by following my own way and changing into a person I can be proud of. “CHANGE” is about freedom to be who you are and who you want to be and accepting whatever comes with that.”
Antonio’s athletic background has clearly aided his personal motivation to succeed in a crowded scene, with the former elite gymnast first writing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Writing in the pandemic led to the debut single ‘circle’, with the following years leading to multiple singles and an EP release.
