New Vision Transforms Iconic Space Into a Multi-Purpose Creative Hub for Artists, Businesses, and Innovators
Studio 4 Recording—founded by Phil and Joe Nicolo and now co-owned by acclaimed indie producer Will Yip— has unveiled a major expansion initiative that has transformed the iconic studio into a cutting-edge creative campus for artists, brands, and content creators. Once reserved solely for professional recording artists, including such stars as Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Lauren Hill, and Anthrax, the space now offers a comprehensive suite of services and resources, making it the creative landmark in the Philadelphia region.
At the helm of this remarkable endeavor is Ron DiSilvestro, award- winning, Billboard-charting producer and chief engineer at Studio 4 Recording. DiSilvestro runs his RDS Music and Media company out of the space and always envisioned it as more than a recording studio but rather a “place where creativity thrives.”
“Studio 4 has always served as the home to some of the greatest masterpieces ever recorded,” said DiSilvestro. “With this expansion, we’re building on that legacy—creating an ecosystem where artists and creators at every level have access to the tools, education, and community they need to succeed.”
Open and fully-operational now, the new Studio 4 Recording offers a comprehensive suite of services and resources supported by a full staff of expertly-trained producers and engineers, including:
- Music Recording and Production: State-of-the-art recording facilities designed to support artists across genres, from emerging talent to established professionals.
- Content Creation: Dedicated spaces for video production, podcasting, digital media, and branded content—meeting the growing demand for high-quality, multi-platform storytelling.
- Artist Development and Education: World-class educational programming, workshops, and mentorship opportunities led by industry professionals, aimed at nurturing the next generation of creators.
- Creative Collaboration: A vibrant environment designed to bring together musicians, producers, filmmakers, and entrepreneurs to collaborate, innovate, and create.
- Rehearsal Space: Flexible, fully equipped rehearsal studios tailored for bands, performers, and touring acts preparing for live shows.
In addition to serving musicians, the expanded facility will extend its reach into the broader creative and commercial landscape, offering businesses and brands access to professional-grade production resources. From high-quality audio and video production to integrated content development capabilities, the space is designed to support everything from advertising campaigns and branded storytelling to podcast production and digital media strategy. By bringing these tools together under one roof, the studio enables companies to create compelling, authentic content more efficiently while elevating the overall quality of their brand presence. The result is a collaborative environment where creative professionals and organizations can work side-by-side to develop meaningful, audience-driven content that cuts through today’s crowded media landscape.
“This is about access and opportunity,” added DiSilvestro. “Whether you’re an artist recording your first track, a brand producing a campaign, or a creator building your platform—Studio 4 will be a place where ideas come to life.”
In conjunction with the expansion, Studio 4 is also planning a series of special events including an “Open House,” “Mix and Master” classes, “Make Your Own Music Video” BYOB parties, and more. The popular RDS Music and Media Summer Camp series will also be available this year. For details, visit www.careerinsound.com or contact DiSilvestro at rdstudio4info@gmail.com.
