SexyTadhg, following the release of the vibrant debut EP Sexy last year, is announcing the new EP Tadhg. With this announcement comes the release of a first tease for the anticipated traditional-Irish-Folk-meets-Punk sound in ‘The Slag Of Carlow Town’.

Immediately colourful with phenomenally energetic strings, punchy, rhythmic percussion and folk guitar. Distorted guitars are then brought in to grit the atmosphere. The production steadily draws you in, transporting you to a room full of life, with a fantastic performance on stage and people around you feeling just as spirited. With this blend of traditional influence with a distinctive vibrance from SexyTadhg, as always, it’s a winning formula for the upcoming EP.

In the artist’s words, “The Slag of Carlow Town was born from my first time integrating the fiddle and trad music into a performance as SexyTadhg, during my musical ‘Television’ which debuted at Dublin Fringe Festival. After that debut, I began bringing it into live shows with my band, and every time I took out the fiddle, the audience response was electric. There was this unspoken, in-built excitement.

Audiences would just come alive, and it became a bridge between them and me. When I  performed it at Cork City Hall, supporting The Mary Wallopers in December 2024, I felt a profound connection with their audience. From that night, I went on to support them across their UK tour, one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. This song has become a cornerstone of my journey, anchoring me in trad music and letting me share its magic with every audience I meet.”

This project builds on a breakout run that has seen SexyTadhg turn heads across the UK and Ireland. Support slots as well as sold-out headliners, previous and upcoming festival appearances, and a wave of tastemaker praise from radio, TV and press, there’s a sense of unstoppable momentum.
