Alt-rock trio Eels! Eels! Eels! have shared their debut EP Eel Land, featuring the track ‘Owls’. The band strikes up a conceptual four-track rooted in the folklore of their East Anglia homeland.

With plenty of indie movement from moment to moment, fuzzy psychedelic guitar takes centre stage alongside raw and impassioned vocals. Swapping between hazier textures and a more assertive, punchy outlook, they harness an excitable energy, the urgency reflecting into their themes of confronting climate change and mythic stories. Rough and ready, then, but nonetheless and exciting debut project that feels unique and intentional.

They explain, “Opening and lead track ‘Owls’ explores the struggle of feeling isolated and unsupported. It has a drive on long stretches of land, with a gung-ho attitude, ready to face anything that is thrown at them.

Separated by the Cut” narrates the journey of Berney Bosgrove, cheating the devil and living with the consequences of that choice. ‘Nothing to Care’ merges two worlds, almost Los Angeles meets Ye Olde Fenland, reflecting on how nature can slowly take over the soul. Closing track ‘Warrior’ turns its gaze outward, asking whether harmony between people might ease the shared anxiety of climate. Inspired by comments made by King Charles I when the fens were drained in 1630”

Garnering momentum with a sold out their hometown headline show in Cambridge and plenty of radio play, the three-piece will continue to embark on live performances up and down the country in 2026.
