Iranian-American artist Shervin Boloorian has shared a new single, ‘Pure Hearts’, a cathartic exploration of the introspective and a moving statement of peace in a time of global conflict.

A soft atmosphere settles over the arrangement as strings swell and a piano gently punctuates a poetic vocal performance. It follows Shervin’s impressive ability to create organic, honest music that tugs at the heartstrings and inspires hope without diminishing the pain of the moment.

The track eventually moves into a more vast arrangement, a climax that underlines the sparse arrangement with a fuller soundscape, introducing a drive from electric bass, drums and guitar. Shervin not only explores tension lyrically but finds a way to reach ineffable emotions through the music itself.

Shervin, an Iranian expat and former Washington-based advisor for US-Iran peace, who is now a sound therapist, natural sound artist, and author in Bali, has a clear timing and personal dimension for the release of this work.

In his words, “The relationship between nations, much like personal relationships, can become defined by force, resistance, and the need to dominate. But ending conflict, whether between people or countries, requires something else entirely. It asks for compassion, dignity, and the honouring of free will.”
