Australian indie/pop-punk outfit Shorehaven turn creative frustration into anthemic pop-punk energy on their new single ‘Oh, Baby!’. The track captures the tension between romance and collaboration, exploring what happens when love and work collide inside the same creative partnership.
Known for blending Australian indie warmth with the punch of early 2000s pop punk, Shorehaven have built a following around energetic live shows and bright, hook-driven songwriting. On ‘Oh, Baby!’, the band sharpen their sound, trading some of their earlier indie leanings for thicker guitar tones, tighter rhythms and a more direct pop-punk edge.
Produced by Matthew Templeman, the single carries a playful sense of self-awareness. Tongue-in-cheek lyrics sit alongside punchy guitars and driving drums, creating a track that balances humour with the familiar frustrations of creative relationships. Vocalist Hannah Gill says the band leaned into the genre’s clichés rather than resisting them, allowing the song’s personality to evolve naturally in the studio.
Visually, the release arrives alongside a colourful music video filmed across three days. The clip shifts between a backyard wedding and a high-energy punk performance, with a playful nod to Queen’s ‘I Want to Break Free’, capturing the band’s irreverent spirit as much as their musical shift.
With ‘Oh, Baby!’, Shorehaven embrace the chaos of pop-punk storytelling while continuing to refine their identity as a band unafraid to mix sincerity with humour.
