Sam Ashby releases new floor-filling single ‘CODE’

Written in the aftermath of his appearance on Big Brother UK, Sam Ashby, also known by the stage name Smashby, has released the thumping new dance-pop anthem ‘CODE’. A sonic atmosphere as punchy as the lyricism, Ashby’s vocals arrive over club-ready production, hard-hitting kicks and scorching synthesiser melodies.

Drama and attitude at the core, the tell-all is delivered in the only way Sam knows how: with explosive, vibrant performances. The mainline hook is effortlessly danceable and infectious, sparkling from the speakers.

In Sam’s words, “This feels like my JoJo Siwa ‘Karma’ moment. This song was inspired by all the drama in the Big Brother House. The code names, the mean girl allegations, the stuff with Zelah, it felt good to write about it all and have some fun with it.”

Originally from Skipton, North Yorkshire, Sam Ashby has been showcasing pop prowess for nearly a decade. Releases so far in 2026 have captured an alluring floor-filler finish, laced with Sam’s bubbly personality. The television stint pushed Sam into the mainstream spotlight, but the artist was already a familiar face across the UK Pride circuit, collaborating with drag performers and continuing to grow a loyal following online.
