Classically trained pianist struck by lightning and galvanised to the dark side of synthesis, Laurie Black is an award-winning, synth-wielding anomaly.
Morphing from the Fringe cabaret underworld into live music line-ups with her live synth-sequencer setup and tongue in cheek chat, she’s notably toured as support for Adam Ant’s UK ANTICS tour (2022) and Professor Elemental (2025).
Described as the “lovechild of Victoria Wood and Gary Numan,” her punk-electro sound underscores politically-enraged, satirical lyrics.
Laurie Black has just unveiled her new album ‘Noisebleed,’ which sees her deliver nine outstanding tracks that showcases the broad range of her skills as a musical artist.
The opening track ‘It’s Happening’ is pure bliss as it blends soft vocals, contemporary beats and synth melodies to create a mesmerizing track.
The titular track ‘Noisebleed’ serves up heavy beats, whilst also delivering a dark cinematic soundscape, sweet vocals and therapeutic lyrics that ensure our attention doesn’t waver until the song has concluded.
‘Axis’ combines powerful lyrics with a soundscape that is both dark and shimmering in equal measure.
The final track sees Laurie blend together semi haunting melodies, sombre beats and dreamy vocals in the most magical way possible.
