Glasgow five-piece Sister Madds kick off the year with ‘Table Manners’, announcing the release of their debut EP Are You Hungry? for later this month.

The track is pure sugar-rush, as the fizzing alt-rock intertwines with the infectious hooks. The biting, cheeky sensibility is delivered in spades while the instrumentation is tight and punchy, with all the indie sheen. Playful, brash and bratty, they’ve got that fantastic pairing of unapologetic lyrics with singalong songwriting, conversational when necessary, but ready for a riot.

The band explains the track, “Table Manners’ is a tongue-in-cheek tune that uses the idea of food etiquette as a metaphor to talk about modern-day relationships. It’s a witty take on modern-day online dating. More and more, there’s a growing lack of humanity in the dating world, and people have endless ‘options,’ which makes the environment pretty hard to navigate. This song doesn’t hold back, calling out bad manners in the world of love and saying what we really think.”

Becoming another exciting rising force to be delivered from Scotland, the band have built a loyal following, evidenced by their near sold-out UK tour, headline festival slots and supporting the likes of Connie Constance, ARXX and Walt Disco. Backed again by tastemaker nods since 2024. With their latest single, they feel like a band on the cusp of a new era.
