Award-winning Canadian Roots-Rock and Americana artist Cory M. Coons is giving fans something special with the official physical CD release of his EP, The Sun Sessions. While the project was initially released digitally to strong listener response, the new CD edition adds a bonus track, offering collectors and longtime supporters an expanded listening experience that highlights both Coons’ present artistry and his musical roots.
The physical version of The Sun Sessions features five tracks that showcase Coons’ signature melodic rock and Americana storytelling style. The EP includes the updated fan favorite “Crumbs ’24,” the patriotic and reflective “Faded Glory (Land of the Free),” and the blues-driven “Memphis Whiskey Blues.” Adding a classic rock twist, Coons delivers a spirited Elvis tribute with his “Hound Dog/Don’t Be Cruel” medley. The standout addition for collectors is the original 2004 radio single version of “Crumbs,” a track that offers listeners a glimpse into Coons’ early songwriting years and illustrates the evolution of his sound over two decades.
Hailing from Eastern Ontario, just south of Ottawa, Coons has built an impressive career spanning more than 30 years. He first gained regional recognition performing in popular touring cover bands throughout Ontario and the United States during the 1990s before transitioning into original music with his band Tycoons.
