Zov.yay focuses his sound on ‘Table Talk’

Zov.yay ended last year with ‘Table Talk’, conveying a sharp, self-assured hip-hop sound. The track is grounded in a steady momentum, an overall bright beat brought down tempo and darker with punchy, rumbling 808s and dusky vocals.

Nonetheless, Zov.yay’s delivery carries a confidence in subtlety that lets the mix breathe, a smooth blend of boom-bap jabs and atmospheric modernity. The calm but commanding attitude provides clarity, turning inward and reflective in themes.

He shares, “Table Talk was written live – I wanted to be free in the moment, really merge with the instrumental, and allow the right message to blend in the right way. This one is about choosing self-assurance and composure over external validation. That cosign you crave may not be as important as you think. Stay ready and keep going.”

That mindset is at the centre of his output, drawing from both the grit and the soul of East Coast hip-hop. Despite only debuting in 2025, he’s built up a developing richness to his discography. ‘Table Talk’ closed out the year with a reserved intention, teeing up a continued momentum going into the next twelve months, whilst allowing Zov.yay to strike out on his own path.
