Julyo brings contemporary blues and jazz to Arthur’s Pub, Dublin for an intimate live show

GRAMMY©-Nominated Musician Julyo will perform a special live show at Arthur’s Pub on Thursday, 13 March, presenting an intimate, blues-led performance in one of Dublin’s most respected listening rooms.

Julyo will be joined on stage by America’s Got Talent finalist Steve Ray Ladson, along with pianist and film-scoring composer Dario Rodighiero, Eoin O’Halloran on bass, and Teige Powell on drums.

Known for a sound rooted in the blues but shaped by jazz phrasing and Mediterranean melodic influence, Julyo’s work places emphasis on tone, space, and musical dialogue rather than volume or spectacle. His performances are often described as restrained and atmospheric, allowing the music to unfold organically through interaction between musicians and audience.

Arthur’s Pub has long held a unique position within Dublin’s live music ecosystem. Situated on Thomas Street, the venue is widely regarded as a dedicated listening room for blues and jazz, attracting audiences who come to engage closely with the music. Its upstairs performance space, in particular, is valued for its acoustics and proximity, creating an environment where subtle dynamics and improvisation can be fully appreciated.

The March 13 performance will feature a stripped-back format, giving Julyo room to explore the expressive range of his guitar work while maintaining the conversational quality that defines his live shows. Rather than presenting a high-energy club set, the evening is designed as a focused listening experience, aligned with Arthur’s long-standing musical ethos.

In recent years, Julyo has combined studio work and international collaborations with a consistent presence on the live circuit, building a reputation for performances that balance tradition with a contemporary sensibility. His approach draws from classic blues language while remaining personal and modern, avoiding nostalgia in favour of emotional clarity and narrative flow.

With limited capacity and an audience culture built around attention rather than background entertainment, Arthur’s Pub provides an ideal setting for this kind of performance. For listeners interested in contemporary blues presented with nuance and restraint, the show offers an opportunity to experience live music in a setting that prioritises craft and connection.

Tickets for the performance are priced at €18 and are available via Eventbrite. The show begins at 8.30 PM.
