Baltimore artist Caleb Holt, just dropped their new five-song EP ‘Cranberry Town.’
The project is an honest look at what he’s been feeling over the last few years.
After dropping a live EP ‘Live at the Theatre’ and another EP ‘La La La These Times)’ earlier this year, he’s back with something more.
The EP opens with ‘Sunday Brunch,’ a chill, dreamy track that would pair perfectly with, well, Sunday brunch. It sets the tone for the rest of the EP, which is relaxed, atmospheric and easy to sink into as a listener.
Holt, a self-taught singer-songwriter, has always pulled from the music that shaped him. But here, he leans more into his own life. He speaks of heartbreak, addiction, and trying to figure himself out. In his words, “This EP is proof that even in our darkest of times, light still finds a way to flow through all of us in hopes that we can begin to do the work of coming together through shared pain, experience, and vulnerability.”
The project closes with ‘Heart Is a Gun,’ a song that feels like a whimsical dream, sending listeners off with a continued, pleasant feeling.
Cranberry Town is about facing dark times, learning what you can and can’t control, and celebrating the small wins along the way. It’s simple, honest music from someone working through the hardships of life, offering listeners a little comfort in the process.
Listen to Cranberry Town by Caleb Holt, out now.
