South London’s alt-rock provocateur Oliver Anderson ignites the senses with his latest 5-track EP, To Kill A Saint, a fearless exploration of taboo, political unrest, and the darker recesses of the human experience. The EP opens with its explosive title track, immediately establishing Anderson as one of the UK’s most uncompromising emerging voices.
Known for his genre-defying approach, Anderson balances raw punk energy with brooding alt-rock textures. Tracks like the anti-corruption rallying cry Sinking Ship and the haunting Echo Chamber, which dives into mental health and suicide, showcase his ability to merge personal catharsis with sharp social commentary. Across the EP, Anderson pushes his sound further, from the melodic intensity of Money (Life) to the visceral, post-punk-driven darkness of To Kill A Saint.
Produced alongside Jennings Couch at Holywell Studios, the EP pulses with atmosphere, distortion, and emotional intensity. The title track, born from a day of personal collapse, fuses gothic western elements, classic rock grit, and post-punk unease to confront historical witch hunts, religious persecution, and the vilification of alternative beliefs. “To Kill a Saint is a direct call out to the bloody past of the Christian faith… the brutal truth behind the peaceful facade,” Anderson explains, channelling history and contemporary frustration into his music.
To Kill A Saint is a visceral, uncompromising work that solidifies Oliver Anderson as an artist unafraid to confront darkness head-on. With grit, passion, and purpose, Anderson’s latest EP is both a sonic and emotional reckoning, and just the beginning of a career that promises to challenge and captivate in equal measure.
