Dilan Skies unveils growth in debut album ‘TO BE SEEN’

Dilan Skies has released a long-awaited debut album, entitled TO BE SEEN. It’s sleek, laced with contemporary pop whilst taking on its own life with alt-pop and synth-pop elements, and is the culmination of Dilan’s five years of releasing music so far.

There are eleven tracks in the bunch, moving through different genres to make each single a moment in itself. All of them carry Dilan’s trademark vocals and lyricism, able to call out to love and master its pain and pleasure. The hooks are melodic, delicate and confident. Dilan takes the art of the album into his own hands, coming from a place of true and fought for independence, doing his best to marry the radio-ready sound with raw personal intent and unshaking identity.

In his words, “This album has always meant more than just a collection of songs. Across these tracks, I’ve reached a new level with my music, being deeply involved in shaping the sound and sitting in on production sessions with a small circle of people I trust. I had originally set out to be a songwriter, but when those doors weren’t opening, I poured everything into my own artist project, not just to showcase myself as a songwriter, but also to truly step forward as an artist.”

British-Indian by heritage, Dilan first emerged, as mentioned, in 2020. Steadily, he’s built a path along BBC Introducing and online support, taking a sound that brings the highlights of The 1975 indie-pop and The Weeknd glitter together. This milestone will not be the last Dilan Skies arrives at, his ambition reaching as high as his namesake implies.
