BryGuy Digs Deep with a Modern Remix of “Buried Love & Broken Hearts”

BryGuy is digging up some serious nostalgia with the reimagined version of his fan favorite Buried Love & Broken Hearts. First written in 2010 and released in 2013, the track is getting a fresh look and sound ahead of his upcoming EP Familiar Ghosts and it’s the glow-up this song always deserved.

Familiar Ghosts is about revisiting old emotions and giving them a proper home, BryGuy says. Buried Love & Broken Hearts was always one of the most personal songs I’ve written, and it deserved a new mix that reflected how far I’ve come sonically even if the feeling behind it still stings a little.

From the first strum, the acoustic guitar pulls you in. It’s warm, bright, and totally dripping 2000s vibes. Think Third Eye Blind, Gin Blossoms, and Jimmy Eat World rolled into one. It feels like the soundtrack to every rom-com movie you loved growing up, the song playing in the background while the main character has that “aha” moment or finally runs through the airport to confess their love. It’s nostalgic, but still fresh enough to feel right at home.

And while the song’s lyrics haven’t changed, they still land just right. Lines like grab a shovel so we can dig up your chest, we’ll open it up and try to find the love inside your heart keep that signature BryGuy edge. Honest without being heavy, catchy without trying too hard, paired with a wave of emotion.

After dropping an updated version of Somewhere Down the Road, this remix is the next step in BryGuy’s mission to breathe new life into his early catalog. It’s a cool way of showing how much he’s grown as an artist while still honoring the songs that got him here.

Whether you’ve been following BryGuy since the early days or you’re just tuning in, this one deserves a spot on your nostalgic “on repeat” playlist.
